A Member of the Inner Magic Circle, Richard regularly acts as a creative consultant, including work with Derren Brown, Ghost Stories, the hit US TV show Brain Games, and the Royal Opera House.

Richard has acted as a consultant on several stage shows, including Andy Nyman’s Ghost Stories, Almeida Theatre’s Twilight Zone (with Will Houston), and Neil Gaiman’s Opera Coraline (with David Britland). In addition, Richard has been a consultant for Heston Blumenthal, Nick Cave, and the Mythbusters.
Television and film credits include creating content for Channel 4’s Derren Brown Investigates…, National Geographic’s Brain Games and The History Channel’s Your Bleeped Up Brain.
In 2004, Richard teamed-up with science author Simon Singh to perform their pioneering show, ‘The Theatre of Science’, at London’s Soho Theatre (‘A unique master class on the mind’ Evening Standard: ‘An astounding show’ Chortle: ‘The spirit of Houdini lives on’
The Times). This show was later re-staged in Edinburgh and New York .
More recently, Richard has presented his own live show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (‘hugely entertaining’ Fringe Guru; ‘hard to beat’, Fringe Review; ‘very funny and very entertaining’, Three Weeks), and devised ‘Experimental’ – an innovative show in which the audience participate in a series of psychological experiments (staged in Edinburg, London, Las Vegas and New York).
