  1. Interesting show of perception deception, mr. Wiseman. I guess we didn’t spot the colour change because it happened too slowly, and it doesn’t normally occur in our daily lives.

And yes, I did spot the 2 “a”-s, which probably indicates that my comprehension of English isn’t fluent enough, yet.

  2. If it had been a sudden change when you sent out attention to the Police in the graffiti I would have been more impressed….a very slow and gradual fading is sly!!! Still cleaver, as I guess in life changes in people very often are gradual and we are accepting of the minutae in changes….ie. wrinkles, hair colour, weight changes etc with age. It is often only when you look back at old pictures you notice the contrasts!

  3. Actually, I did notice the change, but not at a conscious level. Prompted by the title, I was expecting to report on scene details. As a guy, I’m not good with the names of “complex” colors. So when it came to thinking about/describing the hoodie, my internal monologue was something like:

“I’d say that’s a red. Maybe an off-red of some sort. What’s a good name for that? Rust? No. Not crimson either . . . Maroon is a type of red, isn’t it? What’s mauve again? Or maybe burgundy? It’s actually not that red at all . . .”

  4. This is why I love illusions. It shows that crime eye witless testimony is mostly useless. But the whole CSI thing has also been blown all out of proportion as well, as it ca be illusionary as well.
That is why I like you posts, I love illusions and I try to spot changes (did not spot the coat) or even harder to impossible is to try NOT to see the illusion.

  5. Video played for me but the photo of the guy didn’t change or move other than the colour change of jacket towards the end and then the question appeared. Not sure why I couldn’t see any movement. I don’t normally have a problem (using chrome on macbook)

  6. My heart broke when they zoomed in on Nando’s face at the beginning on the match. He looked so sad. I honestly imagined he’d come in after the 70th minute or so. I’d adore for him to see some action in Munich.
