What date comes next in the sequence?April 1stFebruary 3rdMarch 4th
30 seconds!
Is it anything to do with the digital format of these dates?
April 1st = 01 04
February 3rd = 02 03
March 4th = 03 02
So the next one is 04 01 = 4th January
You really are an idiot, Dave.
You’re my mum
You take after your father, whoever he was.
I know the answer. Very tricky, Richard.
About a minute after looking at various patterns before stumbling on the correct one.
Got it! Well – I’ve got an answer anyway! Am I first?
Took me a few minutes. Indeed only one solution for the next in sequence
That’s unlikely. All “guess what I’m thinking” puzzles like this are bad for the very reason that “wrong” answers can often be perfectly justified even if they are not the “one solution” that was intended.
You’ll be stuck after February 1st…..
August, I think, Steve
Oh crap! It’s early….. But aside from that, what did the Romans ever do for us?
You’ll be stuck after June 1st / July 1st unless you use German for October
In a lot of languages you’ll be stuck after April 2nd.
Well, that’s why I always use months from the Roman Republic. Problem solved. Except for August 3rd, alas.
I think i have a solution. It took about 1 minute.
got
i have a solution in less than 30 seances
30 seances is quite a lot of work just for the Friday puzzle.
That’s not good letting dead people tell you the answer.
Genuinely no idea.
april 5th is the easiest reply. but i think january 6th
From now onwards I am notgoing to look at the puzzle just the comments and try and work it out from there
Is this an English speaking puzzle?
It probably would hold good for any Latin-based language.
I got it quite quickly, but that’s because I have seen this puzzle before. I am pretty sure it was on this blog too.
It was used in BBC4’s ‘Only Connect’ series 6.
ah thanks. That’s all right then.
Got it, got it, got it! A few minutes altogether, although I took a break to let my mind have a think…yay!!!
Its how often Apple upgrade its iphone
I initially thought there was something odd about missing out the second day of the month, but upon closer examination of the whole dates, I discovered one possible logic – and as someone earlier said, there is only one date that can be the next in sequence, but conversely, if my logic’s correct, there are no fewer than eleven candidates for the date following that.
World AIDS Day and the birthdays of Woody Allen, Richard Pryor, Bette Midler, Sarah Silverman… and me!
You’re not supposed to give the answers!!1
Took me a few seconds to spot the pattern, but then a couple of minutes to get the next one.
You win. I did not get it. Give me an F
1st February.
I took too many attempts but solved on the 6th.
The 6th of which month?
It was a Thursday in Solvedober or Solvedember, I can’t quite decide.
Got it – before reading the comments.Too many people giving the answer again.
I agree, its a real shame that people try and spoil it for the others
(December 1st)
got it – about 2 minutes in total, but second look
Oh goodness. It took me 12 minutes and various ways to discover a pattern, but I do think I found it. Looking forward to the answer on Monday. I had no disadvantage for not being a native English speaker.
About 30 seconds. But you guys/girls “over there” get to see the puzzles long before I do. Therefore, I’m thinking that I had the fastest response.
Considering it starts with April 1st, I think he’s just fooling us.
Less time than it took to write this. I am ok my phone though.
We’re glad you’re ok your phone. I was sick my phone once and it wasn’t pretty.
I think I have! I got it in 2 minutes! Marcella
Got it in less than a minute
August 58th… But I’ve always been rubbish at these 🙂
Couldn’t do it. Someone please tweet me the answer @edzeteito.
Some kind soul put me out of my misery. Thanks John.
If I’m right, about 10 seconds. If I’m wrong, then a lot longer.
About two minutes. Tried lots of combinations and ideas, then it suddenly jumped out at me.
less than half a minute, Nice one, I hadn’t seen this before.
About 15 seconds to see the mechanics and then about three seconds to get the answer
Feeling like an idiot. I just don’t see it at all. And I even skimmed through the comments. o.O
January 7th
Any date could be picked for the next one in the sequence, and a mathematical formula derived to justify it.
However, I think I’ve found a relatively simple formula that seems to give a significant date for the next in the sequence. So I’ll say that I’ve found the answer in about 5 minutes, and I’ll find out on Monday if my sequence and answer is the one Richard was thinking of.
“Any date could be picked for the next one in the sequence, and a mathematical formula derived to justify it.”
Let’s see you do December 25th, say, on Monday.
Got an answer that works. Took a couple of days. With this pattern there is only one solution for the next in the pattern. But the one after next would be impossible to work out using my logic. So I could be wrong.

This internet site is certainly as an alternative helpful considering that I’m when using the second developing an online floral website inspite of the fact that I’m only commencing out for a result it is truly relatively little, nothing in the least similar to this web internet site. Can site weblink to some from the posts right here because they are fairly. Many many thanks considerably. Zoey Olsen
