Please do NOT post your answers, but do say if you think you have solved the puzzle and how long it took. Solution on Monday.

OK, a nice easy one this week.  Can you move 2 of these coins and change the direction of the arrow?

I have produced an ebook containing 101 of the previous Friday Puzzles! It is called PUZZLED and is available for the Kindle(UKhereand USA here) and on the iBookstore (UK here in the USA here). You can try 101 of the puzzles for free here.

1. Percy Veerance says:

1.7542440 seconds – kroketje, what took you so long?

2. Hugh Janus says:

1.7542442 seconds. Darn! Must try harder next time

3. kroketje says:

lol

4. Anonymous says:

1.7542443 damn!!! I’m so slow!!! it was quite easy though!!

5. Solved. If the rest of today’s problems are as quick to resolve I will be finished in a flash.

2. Does it have to point the opposite direction (which I can’t do), or just another direction? (which seems too easy?)

1. Sillybaaaastrd says:

It’s that easy. Problem, like all of his, is very carefully worded, so only need to change from current direction to any other. As soon as you notice which coins make the head, and which make the tail, ….

3. Mike Hitchcock says:

That is a nice easy one.

4. Selda Ekiz says:

Neat and very simple! 🙂

5. Steve B says:

PRetty eay~ less than a minute 🙂

6. Anonymous says:

Thank goodness for that. One that I can actually do intuitively… A second and bit; maybe

7. Brian H says:

Couple of seconds, but think you’ve had something very very similar in the past

8. Martha says:

1. liam says:

How? The answer is yes or no. You either can or can’t. We are not in the realm of quantum physics here.

2. Martha says:

Those are two different answers, aren’t they?

3. Dave says:

Hah! Take that, Liam.

9. matt says:

Easy, instant. Yes I can do both those tasks. I can even do them simultaneously.

10. drewbk says:

easy peasy this week!

11. Laura says:

Very easy… 10 seconds and two answers

12. The Moron says:

As Roland might say (see last week’s answer) “Yes”

1. Roland says:

🙂

13. Elyss says:

Yes, a couple of seconds

14. Thicko says:

How a pathetically easy.

1. Dave says:

Leaves you more time to work on your English.

2. Thicko says:

Keep trying…

1. Anon says:

Both?
I have in excess of ten

15. I printed it out and coloured them in too!

16. -M- says:

2 solutions

17. Anonymous says:

18. rmb says:

Did not have any clue in the beginning. Then I read the comments and ‘Ah!!’.

19. Anonymous says:

i thought i had solution but this solution was wrong. after some second i got another solution. now correct

20. Stephen Fry's Wardrobe Malfunction says:

21. Sorry, but that was so easy even I solved it. See me after class, Wiseman.

22. Consultant says:

There’s not much room to move the two coins, so they can’t be in a line like they are currently. Hmmmm,

23. TS says:

No I can’t and it took me 0.01 second to come to that conclusion.
I suppose it could be argued that I didn’t really try.
I can only agree with that…

24. Hippy Moonbeam says:

You can’t insist they move, man. They have to WANT to move.

Now pass the bong.

25. So easy it looks like a trick question.

1. Hippy Moonbeam says:

It is!

2. Eddie says:

You mean the obvious answer isn’t correct?

3. Hippy Moonbeam says:

26. For the very first time I’d say it was REALLY easy!

27. Bletherskite says:

28. Ian says:

Cheers, Richard, that is an easy one: got in within a couple of seconds 🙂 It’s a fun little puzzle, so thanks for that. Have an excellent weekend 😀

29. Lazy T says:

two simple moving answers, many answers moving no coins using a mirror,
many answers turning the screen around,,one by converting to hexadecimal and then roman numerals and so it goes and so it goes

1. And so what goes?

2. Lazy T says:

It,
but where it’s going nobody knows

Clue: if you don’t like people blurting out clues in the comments, don’t read them until after you’ve done your own thinking.

31. Yes. Yes, I can. And it took me a couple of seconds. Thank you for the easy one. 🙂

32. Mani, Bina says:

2 seconds

33. En_croute says:

Couple of seconds more than it should – presumed I was wrong, never that easy….. #undiscoveredgenius

34. Just Mike says:

No. I see circles, but no coins.

35. Anonymous says:

I got it before Richard knew he was going to put it up.

36. Mort says:

Took about 10 seconds to realize the direction I wanted to point the arrow would not work. After that it took about 2 seconds to come up with two solutions.
