Talking of owls…..

I have seen a couple of owl photos that I would like to share with you. The first comes from @RealJGoodwin and involves an owl made of fruit….

and @louisejones_x brought my attention to this sad owl….

Which do you prefer?

The fruit owl is great but looks photoshopped. I do prefer the sad owl with the sad red eyes and slouch.

    the fruit one

Agree that the first owl is a real barn owl, overlaid with fruit, don’t like the toy one either. If forced to choose, the fruit one, because it looks like a real owl

  4. The first is exceptionally well done – really, really good – but I much prefer the second, probably because, as a representative object, it just has more ‘character’.

  5. Eddie says:

The first one is genius. Looks like made by an anorak though.

Seems odd to me to compare the two owl images in terms of a preference, perhaps because they’re so different. They’re both good to look at but for such different reasons that it’s a bit like being asked whether I prefer table tennis or tomato soup!

While we’re on the subject though I did find this comparable kitten (couldn’t paste image so here’s website, alter my post if you like RW!)

I like the fruit owl, it is very cute.

These are both delightful, Richard. Thanks for sharing them 🙂 I couldn’t choose a favourite, as there’s a completely different style to each: the artistic skill and accurate portrayal of the first is excellent and the personality of the second is delightful, so they both stand equally on their own strengths and they’re both good in their own way 🙂

Reblogged this on ending one minute at a time and commented:
The second one is cute: the first one is awesome, the face is so lifelike 🙂

  12. Mairi Wylie says:

The sad owl is clearly a mogwai in disguise, and the first one is eerily close to the real deal…

  13. Gail Hatton says:

the 1st one, cause i’d feel bad eating the 2nd one. x

  14. Ian Cummings says:

The first one is really cool! But you wouldn’t want to get the second one wet though… or feed it after midnight, for that matter.

  15. Siladen says:

Nice First, “Looks like” (sorry my english) Arcimboldo style.
I prefer second, is free and real, is possible that only it had a bad day.

  16. Jerry996 says:

    The second one.
