Amazing science stunt….

First, if you are in or around Edinburgh, I am speaking at the Edinburgh Fortean Society tonight.  Details here.

@StuartJRitchie and @FractalMax sent me this great version of the old tablecloth trick….

Like it?  Think it is genuine or fake?

Look at the wallpaper. No one has that in there house surely? Set. And think if you had a video of your brother/son being seriously injured or possibly killed I don’t think you would post it on you tube, would you?

  2. Gerry says:

Kid starts moving back just before you’d expect him to if he’d been pushed.

  3. Mark_D says:

Nobody falls like that. He didn’t even try to protect himself – he should have put his hands out to block his fall, but no, he puts his hands together.

  4. Mark C says:

At 11 seconds the little one has vanished as if there is a hole in the floor that he’s fallen (dived) in to. I don’t think there was anyone harmed in the making of this clip.

  5. Tablecloth is okay but the wall which fallen on the boy seems fake or made of paper.

  6. Carl says:

Fake, but it’s very well done.

  7. Kokiri says:

Fake. The TV set is just a cardboard box.

  8. Nathan says:

It may be fake, but it’s still pretty funny.

  9. primevilkneivel says:

    it’s real, real funny.

After watching it a few times and watching the previous clips of them failing I’m convinced it’s staged. There’s plenty of space for a safety zone in the cabinet and the kid appears to be practiced in minimizing his profile as he falls.

    But damn it was funny.

These kids have a huge series of hilarious failures at doing the tablecloth trick. Check out their related videos.

Obviously faked, but very funny nonetheless.

  13. Frank says:

Lovely video, but it’s part 4 of a series of 4 similar videos made for a German TV show (

  14. Anonymous says:

I wouldn’t say it is funny; it shocked me despite the title of the video. Good work!
