Rob Jenkins from the University of Glasgow and I have teamed up with New Scientist magazine to carry out an experiment into the relationship between facial appearance and personality. We have invited the readers of New Scientist to submit their photographs and complete a simple online measure of personality. We are currently analyzing the faces and will soon post a link to the second phase of the experiment.

  1. Welcome to blogging Richard! I’ve been hoping you’d start a blog for a while now…

A couple of things: the title of your website doesn’t display properly (at least in Firefox) and there seems to be a discrepancy between what’s in your RSS and what’s on the website. (The RSS still contains your test posts).

  2. Did the Jonathan Ames letter come yet? I signed up in January and i seriously truly hope I didn’t miss it. Is there a way I’m able to browse it if it did already come?

  3. Got my first letter yesterday! Loved it. I feel like I am a portion of something excellent that is certainly just starting to transpire. Feeling a strange sensation of community around it all. Maybe you happen to be on to something here! Who would have ever considered that folks would in fact print out words on paper just to have it sent with the mail to another person’s mailbox. Next thing you know, peoe might be growing their own food and walking or riding bikes everywhere. It’ll never ever operate, damn progress.
