EMC and lovely video

26

Today is the first day of the Essential Magic Conference.  I saw the conference set yesterday and it looks amazing.  Also, chatted to many of the 33 speakers and realised just what a broad set of topics are going to be covered.  You don’t have to be into magic to get something out of the event, so I hope that you will be able to join us online here.

This is a lovely video (via @emmakgreening).  A huge amount of work must have gone into it, but it is breathtaking.  Well worth a few minutes of anyone’s time!

Wonderful! The individual aspects so captivating: rhythm, sound effects, visuals. I am playing it right now without the visuals, and it is a fantastic story unfolding.

That’s a very impressive form of animation, I love it. I can’t even consider to wrap my head around how long that would’ve taken. I wonder if that was also partially a project to cover up graffiti.

I liked how the creature(s) changed seamlessly from painted images to actual objects or lines in the sand, yet remaining lifelike throughout.

It’s by a street artist in Buenos Aires, who knocks Banksy into a cocked hat. There’s another, shorter one here (which I think is even more imaginative)
