Yesterday’s post generated lots of traffic and captions. To put everyone out of their misery, here is how the illusion was achieved (again, thanks to @wildbunny)….
But what about the best caption? Well, I have chosen my favourite ones, and put them into the poll below. It would be great if everyone could cast a vote for the one they like best, and the winner will get a signed copy of 59 seconds.
Feel free to keep the captions coming. Also, did you get the correct solution yesterday?

Sorry, I’m not getting this.
Is there any other way it could possibly be have been done, short of photoshop?

Check my comment on the previous post for a link to video of the dress walking down the catwalk. There is no need for photoshop here. We have gotten so used to the age of photoshop that we forget the power of simple illusions. The dress consists of a tight fitting black dress with ruffles sewn on to it. Their is an upper set of ruffles and a lower set. Since the lower set is sewn directly to the black dress underneath, it appears to be suspended in air. Now put the model in front of a black background and the black dress seems to disappear. Suddenly she seems to be missing about 3 inches in the middle, but it’s just the effect of black on black (with a little help from runway lighting angles). In the photo above note that the angle is different, so the black dress is against the blue ruffles and you can see that it is there.

Again, there IS NO ILLUSION here. Weak as water, Captain Peacock.
